About us
Who you'd be trusting
The Care Co @ Home is a nurse-led home care agency in Gqeberha, providing professional nursing care, daily living support and clinical oversight in the comfort of your own home.
Choosing care for someone you love means handing a stranger the keys to your house and your family member's wellbeing.
Director & Registered Nurse
Sister Sinta Schroeder
Sinta owns and runs The Care Co @ Home. She is a Registered Nurse with over 18 years of hospital and ward experience, registered with the South African Nursing Council under registration number 14777502.
She assesses every patient herself, writes every care plan herself, and reviews them as things change. That's deliberate. It means the person deciding what care someone needs is a nurse who has met them.
Care that's planned properly costs less and works better than care that's improvised.

Clinical oversight
A doctor behind the care plan
Sinta's clinical decisions are supported by a doctor specialising in rehabilitation medicine, who carries out in-home medical reviews where a patient needs them.
For families, that means a second qualified opinion is built into the arrangement rather than something you have to chase. For hospitals and GPs referring a patient to us, it means the care continues under medical review rather than stopping at the ward door.
Our carers
How someone earns the right to work in your home
Every carer goes through the same process before they are placed with anyone. There are no exceptions and no shortcuts.
Structured interview
Every applicant is interviewed against the same set of questions, so we're comparing people fairly rather than going on impressions.
SAPS and fingerprint clearance
Police clearance and fingerprint checks are completed before a carer is placed with a patient. Not after, and not "in progress".
You approve the match
We match a carer to the needs in the care plan, then you meet them. Care only begins once the family is comfortable.
Ongoing supervision
Carers work under Sinta's professional supervision, with regular reviews rather than being placed and forgotten.
A word about respect
It runs in both directions
Every contract we sign, with clients and with carers, requires mutual respect and has no tolerance for discrimination or mistreatment either way.
Patients and their families are people, not cases. Our carers are trained professionals doing skilled work, not household staff. Both of those things being true at the same time is what makes care sustainable, and we'd rather end an arrangement than let either side be treated badly.
If anything about the care ever feels wrong, tell us directly. When dealing with the care of a loved one, any concerns should be raised immediately.
Where we work
Gqeberha and the surrounding area
We currently serve Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in the Eastern Cape. Care is delivered in the patient's own home, and Sinta will travel to a hospital or a care facility to carry out an assessment before a discharge.
If you're just outside this region, feel free to ask us anyway. We are happy to explore options for various situations.
Questions are welcome
Feel free to ask us any of your questions that you might have.
